8 February 2003

Hello from Nang Rong Thailand.

Just one night in a quite nice "crash pad" some distance from the Prasat Hin Phimai Khmer ruins. I failed to make a record of the name of the motel, but it might be the 12 unit P. California Inter Hostel as the advertised rates, number of rooms and friendliness and hospitality of the owner matched my experience for that place and the one I used. I paid $8 cash in 2003. My journal notes record evening snacks of fruit, cashews and beer while the comfortably friendly motel owner told me stories of the region and helped me arrange transportation for the following day. After a single night entertaining and feeding mosquitoes in the motel room I hired the arranged cab to run me over to the Khmer ruins and then drive me back to the long distance bus station to continue my trip on down to Bangkok.

Peace,
Fred Bellomy

Nang Rong Thailand: This group of high school kids wanted to practice their English, so we joked around for fifteen minutes making nonsense conversation.
