26 February 2003

Hello from Hat Yai Thailand.

Arrived by train three hours late at 10AM from Bangkok and immediately started my usual search for a good value hotel for a few days. The $29 Lee Gardens Plaza Hotel in the middle of all the commercial activity seemed to be the best anywhere near city center. Although not feeling much like a tourist at the moment, I did manage to take a few documentary photographs to refresh my memory at some point in the future.

Still mourning my recently deceased sister I took it easy for the two nights I stayed in the city before resuming the train trip on down towards Malaysia and the Thai visa renewal formalities. The train left 3 hours late at 11:15 for Yala near the border.

Peace,
Fred Bellomy

Hat Yai Thailand: An interestingly worded street sign. I've seen others, but this time I had the camera out.
